I seriously doubt that this is correct, since Firefox from upstream
still plays YT videos when build from source for e.g. Arch Linux
packages or when installed via the iStore.
Have you installed an outdated add blocker?
On iPadOS there seems to be no way to block YT video adds at all, when
using Firefox, while on Arch Linux uBlockOrigin seems to do the job.
However, on Linux I tend towards "Waterfox" with uBlockOrigin and on
iPadOS towards "Perfect Web", to watch YT videos without adds.
On Linux, when using Firefox or Waterfox, the Add-on "Hide My IP"
sometimes is required to show some YT videos. Some YT videos are not
available in Germany (and/or other countries), but "Hide My IP" does the
job.
