How to connect WiFi to a specific AP?

Yes, but since the IoT device cannot be reached to set a new connection SSID I
would have to change the main router's SSID, which would disrupt all other linux
and other devices connecting just fine to the main router.

The Linux machines I could possibly edit the wpa_supplicant.conf file on all of
them and adding a copy of the existing connection entries with a new SSID.

But all devices are not Linuxes, for instance my printers....

So it is not really an option.
