Ralf and all, I appreciate your help.
I am using a Dell 27" S2721D monitor.
It renders images on websites perfectly in Chrome. But images on
websites in Firefox using Mint 21.3 are dark. Prior to the upgrade
to Mint 21.3 they were perfect in Firefox using Mint 20.3.
In a previous post I provided this link allowing
comparison of screenshots of images as displayed by Firefox and Chrome.

Please note this problem is only when when viewing images that are
within websites. Images called up directly (i.e., not viewed in a
browser) display as expected.
So, for example, https://imgur.com/a/vwkJWgi
The upper picture of the man is an image downloaded from a website. The
lower picture is the same image when viewed on that website using
Firefox. The "dark" problem with Firefox is evident.
And then here is the same image viewed within that website using Chrome.

It's not "dark" as it is in Firefox.
Does this help your investigation?
Thanks!
Gil
