Installing Windows software

I need to re-document and re-screenshot the process of installing TeX Live.
No prob for Macs and Linux systems, which I have, but for MS Windows I'll
need something like an OS emulator or platform library like Codeweavers
Wine, or a VM. I have an old sacrificial machine in the corner but I don't
know if it will support modern Windows. Whichever way, I assume I will need
to find an installation copy of the current version of Windows (10? 11? 12?).
I've never been required to use Windows, either for work or otherwise,
although I've used it occasionally for a few minutes on a colleague's
machine, and I did once use Wine to install some app I can't remember, so
I'm relatively clueless.
All recommendations and warnings gratefully received.
Peter
