I use Tbird as a webmail application, and I have found that the
filtering in 115.16.0esr (64-bit) works okay.
I created, at my hosting ISP, a Junk folder, into which I direct various
spam and malicious email, and, it goes in there okay, for me to check
and to do a mass delete as required, and, that way, I reduce the
unwanted email from being downloaded.
I use alpine for downloading and storing email, as I have found alpine
to be the most powerful and reliable end user email application, and I
have somewhere around a thousand folders and about a thousand filters,
some with a hundred or so filter values, and, about 18-20GB of stored
email, going back to about the start of the century.
If you have problems with Tbird, two user mailing lists exist at
groups.io, one for blind or visually impaired users, and, one for
general users.
