You'll have already seen Ralf's replies that give a command for that.
I thought I'd add the command I use for manually running the
lock-screen. It can be controlled by the default xdg-screensaver
package with this command:
xdg-screensaver activate
Note that my custom lock-screen settings are used whether the
lock-screen is activated manually or automatically.

That's good news, but could still mean it's an intermittent issue.
Here's hoping it was just a momentary glitch.
