desktop/display manager

Hi.

Got the laptop, installed ubuntu.

Couple questions, what's the "fav" display manager? I know what I was
used to prior to the old laptop/centos crashing. But curious as to
what are things the list likes/dislikes/uses/etc.

Also, the HP 17z-cp300 has no eth ports (of course), so it doesn't
have the eth setup in the "network" section, but it does have wifi.
Once I get a usb/eth adapter, any ideas as to the additional drivers
i'll have to find/add/install?
