On Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS, x86_64, pressing ALT+F2 brings up a "Run a command"
window and if I type in a command name - e.g. update manager, it runs that
application.
For command line work, pressing CTRL+ALT+t beings up a terminal window for
more involved things.
