If Windows expects Intel RST, it won't boot -- but Ubuntu can't use Intel RST.

It is possible to force Windows to reinstall its disk subsystem
driver. I described how here:

As it says there, also disable Bitlocker if it's enabled.

Correct, although it can be worked around.
