dmesg synchronizing error when removing closed flash drive

I have been using flash drives via a USB extender and recently noticed
an error on 2 systems now, most recently Ubuntu 25. The data seem ok
and no messages occur during umount or remount that suggest a problem.
Then I turn off the power ( the USB extended has switches for each slot )
or pull the flash drive I get something like this, see the last 2 entries,
