I have been using flash drives via a USB extender and recently noticed
an error on 2 systems now, most recently Ubuntu 25. The data seem ok
and no messages occur during umount or remount that suggest a problem.
Then I turn off the power ( the USB extended has switches for each slot )
or pull the flash drive I get something like this, see the last 2 entries,

Did you unmount the drive before pulling it?

ues, I thought the first few times the unmount failed but not,
"The data seem ok

If I plug it into the USB port on the computer there is no message just
when I use the expander slot. This has occured with two of these on 2 different
Ubuntu's.
