Accessibility request for keyboard shortcuts in the window manager menu

16.04 used the Unity desktop. It has excellent keyboard controls.

GNOME does not.

So, no, default Ubuntu does not have that keyboard UI any more. As
Tommy said, try Ubuntu Unity instead for the same desktop as 16.04
had.

The other option I'd suggest would be Xubuntu. It uses Xfce and that
desktop also has a great keyboard UI which works well.

I usually run Ubuntu Unity but I have some Xubuntu installations as well.

One good thing about Xfce is that it can very easily be modified to
look and work like Windows 95, XP, Vista/7 or whatever you might
prefer, as well as GNOME 2 layouts and so on.

There is an option extra called "panel profiles" which makes switching
very easy:

sudo apt install xfce4-panel-profiles python-psutil
