looking at replacement laptops. hp 17z-cp300 17.3" 8g mem 128g ssd is one
being considered. In the past 4-6 mths, it had a 2.5" internal hdd as an
upgrade option. Now, no longer there!

Have you seen this. Thoughts on good or bad. Are ssd able to run for years
with essentially no issues?. Doing the research on this, but wanted more
thoughts as well.

But if I can't do internal SSD drives, I could still hang an external 2.5"
1tb/usb drive via multi port usb on the laptop and still get essentially
same function. This would be work/dev box, not gaming, so I assume the usb
xfer speed for the external hdd/usb drive would be ok.

At the same time, I could also have an additional drive to be continual
backup.

External hdd/usb solution would be relatively cheap to implement.

Issues/Downside to this. Internal setup issues. Yes this would be more
cables!!

thanks

bruce
