You mean "Update"?

How do you know?

You mean LTS?

What on earth... why?

Oh well. Never mind. You must close them all, all at the same time.
Then, for good measure, reboot.

OMG, what?

That is from September 2021. It is beyond ancient. I am amazed it
still works at all!

Many many things. Among which is not installing it properly and not updating.

Remove it totally.

You need to work out how you installed it, by APT or by Snap.

Try:

sudo snap search chrome

and...

apt search chrome

See which finds it.

But first:

1. Reboot your PC

2. Do a full update of everything. Open a terminal. Type:

sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade -y

3. Reboot.

_Then_ try Chrome.

Make details notes of what the update does. I suggest you take photos.
