Oh, come on, play nice.
It is the default Ubuntu email app and always has been. It was clear
the question was about Thunderbird; it says so.

This is wrong. The difference is that Ubuntu now packages T'bird as a
snap, and snaps keep their config files somewhere different. This is
100% an Ubuntu issue.
If you don't know, that's fine, absolutely no guilt and no blame, but
in that case, if it's a tool you do not use and you have no guess or
general help to offer, I think it's best not to complain.
