Are you hoping to access a a password protected backup you have made, a 
reinstall will not help that, but if it's just the programe an 
uninstall/reinstall cant hurt

$ sudo apt remove --purge deja-dup
$ sudo apt install deja-dup

But it may be access to your backup location that requests the password
