Which Ubuntu version is best for stability right now?

Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask a quick question: for a system where stability is the most
important, which version of Ubuntu would you recommend using today?

Should I stick with the latest LTS release, or do people here feel another
version is more reliable in real-world use?
