I found a workaround for this. If somebody should experience the same

Click the offered help button
Claim you have forgotten your Yahoo ID
Request a code by email
Enter the code
Do not change the password
Repeat the login

For another yahoo account I have to

Click the offered help button
Claim I have forgotten my Yahoo ID
Request a code by email
Enter the code
and after that I have to enter an OTP code
