Terminal on Ubuntu Server 24.04 via PuTTY - where to change text colors?

I have never actually used puitty, but a quick google search reveals
that you should open putty without connecting, open the settings and go
to:

Window->Colours 

Disable ANSI Colours in the settings and also disallow the 
xterm-256-colour mode ... 
Then you can change the default forground/background colours to black
and white and be done ...

On the next connect it should then use the B/W colour profile ...
