I use Claws Mail. It's in the Ubuntu repositories as the claws-mail

From a quick look at Thunderbird, it seems that Claws Mail has more
features than it does - certainly in coloration of message headers,
which is vital for me. I also have a filter that automatically
puts those incoming verification emails from the ubuntu-users
mailing list into the trash folder. I see them as they're coming in
and know to check the trash for one if I didn't notice it coming in
and wanted to check. This is a no-fuss way to reassure me that all is
well without requiring any active participation from me.
