Snaps: a failed experiment

Ok, I had enough, and finally uninstalled the firefox snap, and hooked up
the mozzilateam PPA in order to actually be able to use Firefox in a VNC
desktop.
It's been a known issue for SEVERAL YEARS that some kind of a permission
issue prevents the Firefox snap from working in a VNC session. There's a
hacky workaround, but it is incomplete and only gets the main Firefox window
to render on a VNC desktop. Any secondary windows or dialogs – like, oh,
that obscure dialog called "Save As" are still blocked for me.
Now, I wouldn't fault anyone for expecting that a major functionality gap
would naturally be a high priority issue to address when it surfaces.
However, now that a few years have elapsed, it's apparent that it's not.
Unfortunate.
I happen to be traveling now, and I had to run something off my printer, for
the missus to grab at home, so I VNCed in. Just about when I was getting
ready to run it off, I forgot: no soup for me.
I didn't have time to mess around. So, I looked up the cookbook for flushing
the snap and installing the mozillateam PPA. Fired it up, entered my
password, waited for everything to sync over, and the job's done.
So, problem solved. If someone would give me a holler, maybe in a decade, or
so, when snaps are fully functional on a modern desktop, I'd appreciate it.
