Question about file transfer to Android device

Usually the current or one version behind for both Ubuntu and Android. 
USB connection always worked as far back as I remember, since early 
versions of Android and whatever corresponding Ubuntu.

I can only tell that 22.04 did work with whatever Android was current then.
