Unfortunately, it is the direction that ICT has taken, contrary to the
principles that I was taught, when I was taught software development.

I was taught that the purpose of software development, was to develop
software for the benefit of the client/user.

The change in direction, that has occurred, is that software is now
developed solely for the benefit of the developers.

And, once the software developers have taken absolute control and done
away with users, AI will take absolute control and do away with the
software developers.

It is like the direction that government has taken - members of
legislatures do not exist to serve the people - people exist to serve
the members of the legislatures. Without democracy, accountability is
extinguished.
