Hello.

I want to copy only about half a dozen or so image files.

I have downloaded some Ubuntu Mate iso's - 24.04 and 25.04, and a Linux
Mint Mate 22.2 (based on Ubuntu Mate 24.04) iso, and am copying them to
a Ventoy drive, to find, as suggested, whether I can access the tablet
PC file hierarchy from those versions.

I figure that, if the available file managers for an operating system,
cannot see the file hierarchy on an external device, then, a higher
level application will not be able to access the file hierarchy on the
external device.

What I will probably end up doing, with all of the messing around
involved, whilst I have set up a new Ventoy drive (I have lost the one
that I have previously used, and, the new one is bigger and slower),
and, am putting these later version Linux iso's on it, is copy the image
files to a thumb drive, and get my wife to boot up her MS Win 11
computer, and, get her to copy the files to the tablet PC.

It appears simply too difficult, and, too complicated, to do it, using
Linux.
