Ah, what a nice surprise the next day. I'm glad it worked out and
hope that you've got Firefox sorted again.

Thank you right back for giving me something new to try on the
ever-growing list of things to do when stuff goes wrong. Although
logging in as a new user to see if the problem exists for that user
was already on my list, it never occurred to me to try some of the
tests and potential fixes out as the new user, thereby protecting the
original user until the issue is figured out. Very nice.
