Any links to good hardware forums or pointers to external HDD enclosures with controllers that never go stand by?

Hi,

this is a question I ask every few years, as the situation changes every
few years.

Until now, I have always purchased the "FANTEC DB-ALU3e" enclosure for
my external 3.5" SATA CMR HDDs, as it was the only one I could find
where the controller never switches to standby/sleep mode. Since this
enclosure is no longer available, I would like to know which other SATA
to USB enclosure has a controller that never switches to standby/sleep
mode.

Among others, I tried the "FANTEC DB-ALU3-6G". Its controller
automatically went into standby/sleep mode, which makes it useless for
my use case, as it always leads to errors, even has to lead to errors,
and can never work.

I'm not looking for workarounds for any operating system, that might be
fine for your use case, links to old threads, or references to
enclosures that are, at best, only available on the second-hand market.

I am looking for a enclosure that is currently available on the market
as a new device with a controller firmware that never puts anything into
any kind of idle sleep standby mode or a link to a really good hardware
forum.

By the way, I also wrote to fantec and my regular supplier to ask
whether they have a new model with this type of controller firmware. If
so, I will announce it here.

Regards,
Ralf
