[ubuntu-za] Video playback issues

Hi all

OK, so, this is bugging me.  Video playback has, up until recently, been
working just fine.  I'm not sure what I've changed, but it now refuses to
play beyond 6 seconds, and sound does not work.  I am able to resolve this
temporarily by reinstalling all gstreamer packages, but it breaks again
after a short while.

Has anyone else encountered this?  Any suggestions for a more permanent fix?
