Think about this for a minute... How would it execute?

Web API? It is cross platform, but IE or Firefox? You could just do
Firefox, but most people that install Firefox also block web apps from
executing automagically in e-mail... You would want IE users, as they
are the low hanging fruit.

OS? If it is only Linux, it will stop awfully fast. Most of my address
book is Windows users... A few are MAC. Damn few are Linux.

So you would have to make a cross platform malware... And the extra
code to support Linux would only get you a very small amount of
additional bots. Remember that scammers are lazy. That is why they
don't get real jobs. :) So they won't do a lot of extra work for no return.
