[ubuntu-za] DVD+RW-FORMAT

Hi All,

I'm trying to format a dvd disk with dvd+rw-tools( first time I've used this) 
& seem to have hit a wall.
The disk in question is a dvd+R & dvd+rw keeps saying it's unable to open 
("/media/cdrom0") :Block device required.

What is the Block Device needed, or am I using an incorrect path, because this 
is where the dvd is?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.
