Ho Josh

An I/O error normally indicates drive failure, but necessarily. In your case
I will venture to say that your drive isn't waking up properly. This is a
tricky one :/ I'm not sure where to go from here.

The closest I got is a kernel bug that was
closed<https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.22/+bug/129135>because
of not enough information. If this is a new bug related to your
drive, it could explain why not much info turns up.

It would be interesting to try hibernate using a newer kernel just to rule
out that bug, it might have been fixed in newer versions already.
