Hi David,
You might need to install libdvdcss2 first
from the medibuntu.org site :
http://packages.medibuntu.org/intrepid/libdvdcss2.html
Simple foundation for reading DVDs - runtime libraries
To allow applications to access some of the more advanced features of
the DVD format.
here is the link to the deb file for intrepid
http://packages.medibuntu.org/pool/free/libd/libdvdcss/libdvdcss2_1.2.10-0.2medibuntu1_i386.deb
it is only 36812 Bytes

Hey Ubuntu Community, and Justine
it seems im not able to solve this one, and justine is not on the
community
mailing list, maybe that would be a good move
the problem was her media players closing when they open to try run a
dvd,
so i asked her to run vlc from the command line using a command that
worked
on my notebook
but if you look at the bottem of it, it seem her dvd device is not
called
//dev/dvd like mine,
im not sure what the next move should be to solve her problem, id guess
reinstalling some pakages or something. please avise in simple talk cuz
we
both quite new to linux
id like to thank the community in advance for the support.
