Okay, when you run Ubuntu installer from within Windows (it is called Wubi),
you get to choose the hard-drive size from inside the program while you are
still in Windows. This will be the size Ubuntu sees when running. If I
remember correctly the default size is 20gb, and if you have installed
Ubuntu it usually takes up about 4.5gb (am I correct here?) and you should
see about 15gb minus swap space and whatever it is you have already
installed which leaves you with 13gb.
If I am not mistaken there should be a way for you to access your windows
drive from inside Ubuntu - someone else on the list might be able to help
since I have not used Wubi installed Ubuntu recently - so importing pictures
might not be neccessary while you learn your Ubuntu-Foo.
