Hi Adrianna,

Thanks so much for the trouble you've taken in sending me that in-depth 
explanation - It's going into a library that I'm putting together on commands 
etc. & I can assure you I'll be using it as a point of reference for a long 
time to come!

As you may have seen in my reply to other good folk who helped me, it was a 
simple case of using a capitol for the "D" in desktop. I had just assumed 
that my home directory was the one in the terminal. "vincent at vincent-desktop 
& that I was in the desktop directory.

We live & learn.
