My xchat auto starts, some times I'm logged in but not watching the 
channel. More friendly sounds good! Admittedly I'm more grumpy after a 
day of work, and less so during the day (a time when I sadly cannot get 
onto the #) ;P

Maybe some simple irc games could help make fun and friendly - in a 
seperate channel of course, ubuntu-za shouldn't be flooded with OT
