You can use WINE, it's quite advanced these days. I play a lot of my 
Windows games using WINE without a problem.

It looks like Legacy Family Tree (if that's the app you're talking 
about) runs on WINE, though the reports on WINE's AppDB are all a little 
old... try it out is my suggestion... you don't lose anything by doing so.
