Hi Maia,

Flyers - give them to schools - we need to design one for South African schools

Go to the schools, hand out Flyers, and give presentations, possibly a 1 Hr presentation, we need to create this as a community, so that the presentation is the same where ever it is presented

Go to shopping centers, hand out the same Flyers, at these centers you might "get" the right person, who possibly will help with schools

On Sunday, I showed Ubuntu to a teacher and her husband, I also told her about LibreOffice, It would have been great if I had this Flyer and Presentation available

Also possibly create a Ubuntu Presentation, from a South African perspective

William

Subject: [ubuntu-za] Open Office/Libre Office and other open source software

Last year some time Microsoft changed it's licensing fee/policies for
schools and educational institutions.

This means it is now much more expensive for schools so use Microsoft products.

This is an opportunity to promote open source software such as Open
Office/Libre Office.

Does anybody have any ideas on how we can assist, pre-empt, do anything to help?

There has been some brief irc discussions but we wanted to open this
discussion on the mailing list.

What does everyone think?

maia
