[ubuntu-za] What am I missing?

The Ubuntu Unity versions run very slow on my wife's desktop compared to 
mine, but their hardware is almost identical. Both machines are running 
on 160 gig drives with 2 gig memory. Consequently her machine is still 
running on Ubuntu 11.04, but she only uses it for e-mail, social 
networks and to manage her photos.

The only hiccup is that she is receiving notices that her Ubuntu version 
is no longer supported, could this cause a problem?
