Hi Bill,
You can achieve this. Firstly thunar options, under volume management,
determines how it handles connecting usb disks. You can turn this off.
Usually how it works is thunar is run in daemon mode (--daemon option) via
a startup script. Your task is to find where xfce startup scripts / apps
live and change it to be nautilus. Find out if nautilus also has a daemon
option (if it needs one) to run in this startup script.
Then nautilus will either automatically handle your new disks, or you will
have to hunt for this in the settings to enable disk handlers.
