Hi Nico,

Could you try and do the following for me:
1. Open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T)
2. Type into the terminal: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

Are there any error messages that get displayed or does apt-get update 
everything ok?
