Hi Chris,

I remember having a similar issue a few versions of Ubuntu ago.  In my case, removing flash and re-installing it sorted out the issue.  You may be able to do this by specifying a clean install without first completely removing flash from your system.  I think it had something to do with flash recognizing the update, so although your flash works fine, it sees an issue because the update has taken place and the version numbers no longer match up.
