Hi there

I need to teach C++ programming on Linux rather than on windows

It will be terminal apps no GUI apps to show how to write classes and 
see the results of your code

To do this is Java is easy but in C++  I need advise

I could use gedit to write the code
What would you use ?
What compiler gcc ?


Also Is there a C++ IDE that incorporates these ?
