Hello,

Did you reinstall the latest version of Scribus successfully? What is
the output of:

dpkg -l | grep scribus

?

Also, please launch scribus from the commandline, reproduce the crash,
and see if you get more detailed error output on the commandline.

I have found some mentions of a Qt-related signal 6 crash on 12.04,
but 1) it's supposed to be fixed in the latest package version and 2)
without the exact error I don't have that much to go on. I just tried
opening and saving files on my own Precise install and everything
seems fine.

Regards,
