That logic also baffles me. I am not sure if Ubuntu Linux ever was "South
African", what ever that may mean. Encryption laws are also subject to
context: using it for authentication and integrity checks is freely
available for use, the securing of data is country-dependant [1].

In South Africa we do not have such strict crypto laws as other countries,
and a permit to use it is only required for software issued towards
military use [2].

That said, those same laws apply to all distributions, embedded systems and
software alike, regardless of country of origin.

Nico we appreciate your concerns that are certainly valid, but your
haphazard approach to finding the facts [3] are indicative of what we call
"trolling".
