Hi guys
It's a misnomer for our argument to be "lets think from resellers point of
view". The principle is: are customers forced to purchase one product
because of another. Is this declared and is this monopolistic? This is
forced tie in or buy in if you will.
We have the CPA for this very reason-protection of the consumer NOT
businesses.
In the US this week it became illegal for someone to port their phone from
one network provider to another. Can you imagine? You buy a phone and are
unable to move networks.
Here we have SIM port and phone ownership. Whereas they just have rent a
phone. They need permission to move from one provider to another even when
paid in full.
This is a matter for the CPA and the industry will have to adjust but we
cannot preempt the outcome by negating our own position. In many ways thats
the problem with small.minority areas - they think too small.
We have a great law in a great country that the great land of freedom
doesn't even have. Its up to US as citizens to make use of it.
I'm in and will sign whatever petition / complaint for the Ombudsmen.
