Hi Hilton

I did a post about 2 to 3 years ago regarding dell and ubuntu working
together.

The link at that time was www.dell.com/ubuntu

It currently redirects you the the following specked laptop.

3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3517U (4M Cache, up to 3.0 GHz)
UBUNTU Linux 12.04
13.3" HD 720p
8GB2<http://www.dell.com/mc.ashx?id=technotes:graphics-and-system-memory&c=us&l=en&s=soho&modalwidth=400&modalHeight=150&ovropac=0&modalscroll=yes&modaltarget=div&modaltype=tooltip&position=bottom&title=Important
Details&flip=false&eventType=rollover> DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz
256GB Solid State Drive
Intel HD 4000
1 Year ProSupport with 1 Year NBD Limited Onsite Service After Remote
Diagnosis
2.99 lbs

I also recall that rectron sold at some stage entry level laptop's with a
freeware DOS version (the old style MS-DOS) with just a command promt.

That allowed companies that had volume license of windows, to load it on
the laptops.
