404 doesn't mean that your internet connection isn't working. It means
that the file you're looking for was not found on the server.

Look here:

http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/

Trusty isn't there. That's because Trusty is an LTS release. It's
still in the normal distros:

http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/
