Good day all,
After battling with the loss of the menu bar in my file manager in
Ubuntu 16.04, I have found this answer:
The loss of Nautilus menu bar in Ubuntu 16.04 can be solved by
installing clamtk-nautilus via Synaptic Package Manager. Install
Synaptic via Ubuntu Software Manager, type "nautilus" into the search
window and mark clamtk-nautilus for installation. Click on "apply." Then
open settings/appearance/behaviour and select your preferences under
"Show the menus for a window" and "Menus visibility."
I am not permitted to post this answer in Stack Exchange, so perhaps if
somebody with permission feels that it is a worth-while solution, you
can do the posting.
Best wishes,
Jan
