[ubuntu-za] help - connectivity after installing ubuntu server 16.04

Hi there,

I've been trying to turn an old work laptop (dell vostro) into a proof
of concept linux server.

I've installed ubuntu server 16.04 - during installation, it appears
to have no problem downloading from the Internet. All this via the
Intel wireless card.

However, once it's done, the card isn't enabled, and I can't connect
to the internet or even ping 8.8.8.8

Googling hasn't led to much success - restarting networking didn't seem to work.

Any help would be appreciated.
