Sorry for the late reply, I've been out of town!

I updated the bug note - copy/pasted below too.

Thanks again for looking into this,

Chris

Yes - still a problem.

The summary is that Hoary only works with 100% manual
intervention.

I have a 2nd box that I've been testing Breezy Badger
(5.10) and things are improved. Installing the
"rio500" package (version 0.8.1-6) works great, the
/dev/usb/rio500 gets created and can be used (e.g. via
/usr/bin/rio_stat) without the need to modprobe, and
create the device by hand. BUT on a reboot the device
disappears (just like Hoary), the good news is that
running "/usr/bin/rio_stat" in automatic mode does
work (unlike Hoary) but I have to do this on every
reboot. I've tried this with both the default "stock"
386 kernel and the 686 image.

You can test this without the need for a rio500
device, just install the package "rio500" and after
install you should find /dev/usb/rio500 exists, if you
reboot /dev/usb/rio500 will be missing again. There
doesn't appear to be any "hotplug" detection (and I
don't think there should be). Once the rio500 setup
has been run, I would assume the device would always
get created after a reboot BUT this is out of my area
of expertise so I'm willing to accept user error if
there is something else I should do.

Thanks for checking back on this issue and not
forgetting about it I know you are busy.

Chris
