[Bug 291550] Re: package mpd 0.13.2-2ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 139

I had this problem while installing mpd, I found that even after

apt-get remove mpd

the file mpd remained in /etc/init.d/
Upon deleting this file the instalation worked fine.
uname -r
2.6.27-10-generic
